Adventure Begins!

In true fashion to who we are, we decided to take our honeymoon to the next level, by not only picking an exotic location to spend together as a newlywed couple, but to go big. We want to backpack around the world! As you can imagine, a lot of planning is involved with this, so we decided to take a delayed honeymoon so we could focus on the wedding, then the honey moon. Planning involved looking up a lot of forums, reviews, and blogs. One of the first decisions we had to make was if we wanted to go on an easterly flow, or a westerly flow. We felt that the effects of jet-lag would be less pronounce if we traveled west. We will let you know by the end of the trip how that worked out.

We did a lot of research and picked out what we thought would be the best route to hit one city on each of the continents, minus Antarctica, with the most direct flights. Here is our route: Chicago – Santiago, Chile – Sydney, Australia – Bangkok, Thailand – Dubai, United Arab Emirates (for a night!) – Cape Town, South Africa – Frankfurt, Germany (or somewhere in Europe/TBD) – Chicago! The route may change, if an adventure falls in our lap we are ones to take it, but this is the current plan. It will be an absolute whirlwind of 28 days including over 2 days spent on airplanes! But we are beyond excited to start this adventure and share it with you!

Stay tuned for all our adventures ahead! We have a lot of awesome experiences planned! We cannot promise to update all the time but we will update when we can. Thankfully, we have a few really long flights where we can get caught up!
